Barite
API-grade drilling barite from the Benue trough, milled to specification.
Overview
Barite is the weighting agent in drilling mud, and the specification is unforgiving: specific gravity at or above 4.20, with controlled soluble alkaline earth metals. Nigerian barite has historically been sold below specification, which is why buyers discount it.
We mill and blend to hit API 13A on delivery rather than at the mine gate, and publish the SG on every lot. Lower-SG material is sold openly as filler grade instead of being pushed into the drilling market.
